A fire blazed through the top two floors of the residence Les Balcons de Vallandry in Peisey-Vallandry.

Fire engulfed holiday apartments in Les Arcs
A Dutch seasonaire raised the alarm and woke up other logers. After finishing work in a neighbouring bar a Dutch man spotted flames on the aprtment block on his way home, he immediately ran into the building and knocked on all the doors to wake everyone up.
At 3.15 in the morning the fire brigade were on the scene but it was the Dutch man's quick intervention that helped evacuate the building safely of it's 27 guests.
It took the fire-fighters over three hours to control the fire, and investigation is under-way to determine the cause of the fire.
