Meet This Years Les Arcs Snow Reporters

Meet our new brother & sister team of snow & apres ski reporters

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Les Arcs Editor Updated

Our reporters are back and raring to go for the season ahead bringing you all the latest snow reports, dump alerts, and where to go for the best nightlife, events and activities on your stay in Les Arcs .. So here they are - meet the Woody's!

Covering snow reports and dump alerts is Kate. Some of you may already know her from 'Woody's Wevver Weports' on facebook, so who better to keep you in the know about the snow!

Hello fair readers. My name is Kate but everybody calls me Woody. I have been a resident in Les Arcs for nearly 5 years and I can tell you that there this resort keeps growing, improving and surprising me everyday.

My Dad was a ski instructor for Ski Club Great Britain and both my brother (a fellow Lesarcsnet key-tapper) and myself were thrown into the wonderful Alpine lifestyle at a very early age. However, we both turned to the darker, more exotic side of wintersports, that is, snowboarding, much to the dismay of dear old Dad.

I've skied in some awesome places all over the world, but something always brings me back to the French Alps and Les Arcs in particular. This might have something to do with my French partner, The Bear.

I am hugely passionate, obviously, about all things "Alpsy" (no, that is not a word). The food, the lifestyle, the language and the traditions. I love to discover new routes and spots that only the locals are privy to and I pride myself on picking some of the best runs for the weather. I do try (try being the optimum word) to hit the park every now and again, but I like to avoid embarrassment every now and again and find some secret hits off-piste away from all those watchful eyes...

I'm so looking forward to this season and I can't wait to give you all the good weather/snow news (with hopefully very little bad) from right here in my cozy flat overlooking the valley. So, mark Lesarcsnet on your favourites and sign up for our snow dump alerts so you don't miss out on any of the snowy excitement.

Hope to see you all out here this Winter!

Keeping you all in the loop about news, nightlife, activities and what's going on in and around Les Arcs is the other Woody - Jonathan.

Hello, G’Day and Bonjour! My name is Woody and I’m going to be bringing you news and info on the incredible resorts of the Paradiski area.

I have been visiting Les Arcs for the last 33 years and it is a home away from home for me. Snowboarding and skiing are my absolute passions and I have spent the last 5 years doing back to back winters between Les Arcs, New Zealand and the USA.

Les Arcs is my favourite resort in the world and I’m really looking forward to meeting some of you guys, getting out for a shred with you or having a cheeky couple of après beers. The scope for riding here is just massive and there is something for everyone.

I’m a huge fan of the local ‘savoyarde’ food and there is some really authentic restaurants on the hill and in the resorts. There is also Macca’s in Bourg St.Maurice but we don’t talk about that!

If I could visit anywhere in the world it would probably be South America (yeah, I know, that’s a pretty big place) I would love to snowboard in Patagonia and Chile and then head to Ipanema for some surf and the Carnival.

With my reports I will be cobbling together useful, reader friendly info about the mountain in a cheeky monkey stylee. Whether you are strapping your ABS on at 8am or hitting the snooze button for a more leisurely start you’ll find helpful local info to make your stay in the resort the best it possibly can be. Oh, and there might be some terrible jokes chucked in for good measure!
