Train Service to Resume between Moutiers & Bourg St Maurice
After large rock falls on the lines in April, trains will soon start running again
After a large amount of rock came crashing down onto the roads and rail lines near Moutiers back in April, workers have bee tirelessly trying to get the service back in operation.
Replacement buses were immediately put into place to allow holiday makers to reach the Tarentaise valley resorts, and it was initially thought that the work would have been finished at the end of July.
Around 2 million euros has been spent so far trying to repair the rail tracks and re-open the line, as well as the installation of large metal nets to try to prevent the same thing happening again.
A new date for the line re-opening has been published today and hopes are that normal sevrice will resume on the 29th August.
