Refuge de la Martin, Villaroger

A rustic refuge that is open & guarded from mid June to mid September

The refuge is a former Alpine chalet built in 1930 and purchased by the Vanoise National Park in 1972. It is located in the mountains 2154 metres above sea level in the municipality of Villaroger in the heart of the Park and is accessible only on foot.

The shelter has a variety of basic amenities: a wood stove, two gas hobs, double sink, a water treatment with UV, everything needed for cooking, cleaning supplies, mattresses, blankets and pillows (although you should provide your own sleeping bag.

The refuge has 23 beds - please note that bivouac is not allowed. Half board is provided with a good hearty evening meal, usually served between 19:00 and 19:30. At the time of booking, remember to specify if you want to take half board.

The refuge is open from mid June to mid September for hikers and walkers to enjoy. During the rest of the year the shelter is unguarded. You will find blankets, wood and gas available. IMPORTANT: The water source that supplies the refuge does not provide enough water for taps and toilets to be usable outside of their open summer months, so please bring your own water supply.

Booking is essential and you must specify if you want half-board, to be sure of getting an evening meal.
