These busy ladies always manage to find time for food :-)

Now that the season is winding down, we've managed to grab a few minutes with Clémence & Lea from Spirit 1950 in Les Arcs. They're busy ladies and it's no surprise when they look after a ski school, a whole selection of winter & summer outdoor activities and have a lot of clients to deal with on a day to day basis.

In between lots of planning, booking and liaising with customers, they like nothing better than to eat.. and to ski!

Tell us a little bit about your business, how it started out and where you're based etc...

Spirit 1950 / Evolution 2 is a ski and snowboard school. Spirit has been in 1950 since the village was created. We are now working under the Evolution 2 brand for three years everywhere in Les Arcs: Arc 1950 (Spirit), Arcs 2000 – 1800/1600 (Evolution2).

How long have you been in your current role and how long have you been with the company?

I have been with the company for three winters now. I work at the office in Arc 1950.

What are the best bits about your job?

When you have an hour off, you just have to put your skis on, you are already on the slopes, ready to explore what Les Arcs has to offer.

What's your favourite piste or off-piste area & top tip to go skiing?

L’Aiguille Rouge down to Villaroger for a lunch break at La Ferme or the Carroz Blanc off piste for a lunch break at Fer à Cheval. After you ski, you need to eat!

Where would send someone who was after that something 'something special' in resort, to stay, eat or drink?

Everywhere in Les Arcs, you can find nice and cosy restaurant, on the slopes or in the galleries. Belliou or Chalets de l’Arc are some of the ones you should try.

Your favourite place for lunch or dinner?

I would say Le Sanglier Qui Fume in Arc 1600. It is a brand new restaurant, right in the middle of the slopes. On a sunny day, it is just the perfect spot for a good Savoyard Burger.

Where will we find the best coffee or hot chocolate?

Definitely Wood Bear Café in Arc 1950. Along with the coffee or hot chocolate, get yourself a nice cake or cookie. Everything is homemade!

What has been your best ever day in Les Arcs?

Recently, a day skiing and a night at Les Cabanes du Grand Col in March at 2935m high. Perfect sunset and lovely sunrise. No electricity, no heat, but a bottle of Savoie white wine and a fondue and you feel like you're at home.

What's your favourite thing to do in resort when not skiing or snowboarding?

Eating seafood at Bulle Café, in Arc 2000 area. As you can see, when coming to Les Arcs, eating is really important.

What do you do in the summer?

In the summer, you can pretty much do any mountain activity: running, climbing, biking… with Spirit 1950, from beginners to advanced, you can enjoy the mountain the way you like.

Where would you recommend for something different for après-ski?!

If you want something different, Spirit / Evolution 2 offers you to go to the Yurst (in 1950) for a nice “aperitif” or a lovely Savoyard dinner in real Mongolian yurts. No electricity, no water but an incredible experience for everyone.
